Heslerton had a disastrous Saturday with both the 1st and 2nd X1 teams suffering
10 wicket defeats.
The 1st X1 elected to bat at Scalby but could not tame the home attack of Edward
Hopper (3-24), Paul Hesp (2-16) and Lachlam (4-18) with only Andy Slaughter (19),
Rob Middlewood (23), Stu Pickard (14) and Vernon Smith (19) reaching double figures
being all out in 34.4 overs for 97
After tea Dave Holborn (54no) and Edward Hopper (38no) knocked off the arrears in
20 overs without being parted.
Heslerton 2nds v Snainton
Heslerton were put into bat, on their own pitch, a decision that proved fruitful
for opponents Snainton, slipping to 30-5 inside the first 10 overs. It was only a
solid innings from Tony Watson (45 included 9 fours) that helped move the final total
to 73 from 33.3 overs, Leigh Watson claiming (4-24) and Ben Norman (4-21) as 5 batsmen
failed to trouble the scorer.
Replying Michael Kipling (33no) and Steve Ridley (36no) had no problems knocking
off the total without being parted.
Tony and Malc discuss tactics but to no avail
Malc Spaven gets this one away to leg but the leg spinner got him next over without
Tony Watson hitting one of his 9 fours during his knock of 45
