Heslerton decision to put Ebberston into bat on their own pitch appeared a master stroke when the home team were all back in the pavilion for 91, Eddy Craggs (20) and Alex Machan (28) the only pair to challenge Heslerton’s opening bowler Adam Spaven (5-19 inc hat-trick) and Aussie off-spinner Scott Brennan (5-37) but after the break the visitors found batting equally difficult losing their first 7 wickets while still in the 20’s. A rearguard resistance from both opening bowlers, skipper Adam Spaven (28) and Andrew Slaughter (17 not out) failed to rescue the match finally succumbing to 77 all out and defeat by 14 runs, Frankie Beal claiming (6-18), Mathew Turnbull, returning to his home team from Easingwold (2-30) and Ian Atkinson (2-10)
