‘Premier’ Division

Heslerton v Scalby

Heslerton lost their first wicket without a run on the board but Rob Thackray added a brisk (28) and Paul Bowes (29) but with the score 87-4 after 31 overs Scalby were slight favourites. Tom Benthall (39) added 60 with Toby Sercombe (52) who continued to be the 6th wicket to fall with only 2 overs remaining. A final total of 204-7 left the match well balanced, Joe Hills and James Deaves having claimed 2 wickets apiece for the visitors.

Scalby’s reply  revolved around opening bat Joe Hills (93no) who stood firm throughout their innings after Paul Kinghorn (4-44) had reduced them to 84-5 in the 19th over, Dan Gregory (26) having helped add 45 for the 5th wicket. Another 37 for the 6th wicket began to swing the game towards the visitors until Marc Dring bowled Lachian Cooke (11) in the 25th over but a further 3 wickets left Scalby needing 52 with 9 wickets down. Again the match swung back towards the visitors as a winning total got ever closer before Mathew Webster trapped Rory Skelton for 23 leaving Heslerton the victors by 9 runs after 41.1 overs, Marc Dring finishing with (3-35)

Division 3

Heslerton 2nds 42-2 beat *Forge Valley 2nds 41 all out by 8 wickets

In their final match of the season Harry Watson claimed a magnificent 5 wickets for 1 run as Heslerton overpowered Forge Valley 2nds by 8 wickets
