Andrew Slaughter stepped up to open a depleted Heslerton side’s innings on his own track versus Ebberston and so well did he relish the challenge that he carried his bat for a full 45 overs remaining 66 not out (inc 1 x 6 and 4 x 4’s ) at tea out of a final total of 141-8. From 33-3 the club secretary added 50 for the 4th wicket with Sam Triffitt (26) and 30 for the 5th wicket with skipper Adam Spaven (24). For the visitors Frankie Beal bowled a miserly spell of 12 overs claiming (2 – 9) with 7 maidens,


After an extended break due to rain Ebberston faced only 4 balls before heavy rain ended play for the day  with the visitors on 1-0
